STRATEGY DESIGN
STRATEGY DESIGN ”Farm Fresh to You” is a US based company that wants to expand to our local community. The company partners with local organic farmers bringing fresh seasonal products to customer’s doorstep. The company needs a new logo and visual identity to suit new customers and markets. I was asked to conduct research to identify the competition, the target group, drivers and barriers and to use this information when designing the new logo and visual identity for this company. The company also needs a suitable packaging for their products and branding on the delivery vans. The logo and visual identity was to be presented in a brand Style Guide. SEE THE HOLE DESIGN HERE

Awareness campaign
This poster was made as an assignment in Noroff. A21 is an international organisation working to eliminate human trafficking and abolish injustice in the 21st Century. In 2015 the organisation had 11 offices in 10 countries, including Norway. You can read more about them here: http://www.a21.org/ My job was to design a poster for A21 for a public awareness campaign targeted towards Norwegians. The purpose of this campaign was to get people to change their attitudes towards this subject as well as to create awareness around the issue. The poster should showcase a name, slogan and any additional text you would like to add. The “hero” of the poster should however be an impactful photograph. The photos should be taken outdoors using mainly natural light.

Burmesterhaus
As a client project for end of the second semester, I took a challenge to design the front end of the website for the Burmesterhaus and execute the solution for the back end as well. The client — Marke and Heikki Piuhola — owns a house, in the Alps of Germany, they are renting the rooms out. Burmesterhaus has five rooms different sides. The website needed to be both in English and in Finnish. The client wanted to have very comprehensive content. All the photos and texts are from the client but processed by me. They also wanted to have a booking opportunity for the rooms, contact form, send a link to friend form, facebook and Instagram feeds, activities what to see and explore close by Burmesterhaus and the events. After getting more information from my client through 10 questions I had for them, I had better idea what they wanted to have and what they expect me to deliver. While the client wanted to be able to update the site quite frequently, I decided to use WordPress and to create a child theme for it to give it the unique look for the site. I designed a logo, the […]

PRODUCT ADVERTISING In this assignment I needed to create a street poster using photography as the main focus and promote a product. The background photograph had to be taking from a pedestrian street in my city at night. The poster had to include the photo of a pedestrian street, slogan, logo and a product photographed in a studio. The product had to be something that could be sold in one of the shops on the pedestrian street. The size for the hole poster had to be A2 portrait. The purpose was to be creative with the camera, explore photography and experiment with lighting. With the right lightning, product/night photo combination and layout I worked to get the atmosphere to the poster.

Magazine Design
A foreign publisher contacted me and asked to create a concept and design for their new magazine. The magazine will be about world issues. It outlines the biggest problems of our time and offers possible solutions. It also outlines a way forward with in-depth research and analysis, tools for citizen participation and stories about real people working for a better world. Today’s world is not ideal – climate change, financial collapse, poverty and war leave many people feeling overwhelmed and hopeless. This magazine hopes to empower people with the vision and the tools to create a healthy planet with vibrant communities. My job was to come up with a brief visual strategy and concept, name and logo, a grid and layout for the entire magazine, front page / back page, table of contents / colophon, article pages (select 6 of 8 the articles), title, byline, introduction, subheadings, body text, captions, pagination, photography and illustration and create physically dummy paper. Concept design
This Project Exam was a independent work for a real client. As a result my clients in Helsinki Figure Skating Club got a logo, a brochure, a poster, a business card and a profile manual. The club had a new team formed this year and they needed a logo and the business cards, a senior team needed a brochure and the hole Club a poster of an upcoming skating event. It was four different assignments but still needed to have similarities and something to combine them together. The profile is very professional even thought it’s a Club. They want to aim higher and do better all the time and in all of their areas – as well in visual communication.

Cookbook
This was an interesting assignment to step in to the world of layouts. When making the decisions for the layout of this cookbook I wanted to make sure I had well working grid to work with. I also wanted to make sure that the fonts that ware used go well together, are easy to read and represents the style and time what I was going after. The use of colors were thought so that they would link the pages together but also separate them from each other. I tried to figure out the best solution for the layout so that it wouldn’t feel too packed in the pages where there was a lot of text and not too empty in the pages were was not that much text. The cookbook should be easy to read and follow. It should be modern and boost the reader to try the recipes. I tried to keep on mind again that simple is good but still the products always needs that something to be interesting. I think the use of colors and variations of the typography supports those criterions.
